Education & Dental Training
Dr. Joon earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of North Florida, where he was named to the Dean’s List. He then attended the New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
His education and clinical experience have given him a strong foundation in comprehensive general dentistry and the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of dental conditions.
Comprehensive Dental Experience
Before joining Casper Family Dentistry of Dallas, Dr. Joon practiced as a full-time associate dentist in Carthage, Texas. His experience encompasses a broad range of general and advanced dental procedures, including:
- Tooth-colored dental fillings
- Root canal therapy, including molar root canals
- Simple and surgical tooth extractions
- Dental crowns and bridges
- Complete and partial dentures
- Dental implant placement
- Guided bone regeneration (GBR)
- Pulpotomies and stainless-steel crowns
- Nitrous oxide sedation for patients experiencing dental anxiety
This broad clinical background helps Dr. Joon evaluate each patient's individual situation and recommend appropriate treatment options based on their dental health, comfort, and long-term needs.

Dr. Joon has a strong interest in evidence-based dental care. His academic work has included research and presentation on selective caries removal, including reviewing dental literature and evaluating clinical studies to better understand its use in restorative dentistry.
